Pembroke Athleta Sports Club (formerly "Athleta Juvenis Sports Club") was founded in 1962. Athleta Juvenis was one of the leading Clubs on this island in the 1960s. The various disciplines that were members within the club included Football, Athletics, Basketball, Hockey, Volleyball and Netball, and they all managed to reach a high level and several successes. But, most importantly, it has provided a training service and playing opportunities to hundreds of athletes of different ages, especially young athletes with a focus on education in sport.

From a rather humble start from a basement in "For the Lembi" Street, the Club managed to operate for a decade. From there Athleta Juvenis moved to a much larger place, with better facilities at Triq il-Cathedral Sliema. It was in the second decade since its establishment that the club has established itself as the largest Sports Club in Malta.

With regret, after this growth and successes, the club has gone through the ugly and most difficult time when he was sacked from this place and for some time was out of place, except for a room in Swieqi.

But in 1990, the Government had provided Athleta Juvenis a place as a Club in Pembroke. This place was used by the Breeders' Army as a Chapel. After many works and certain investments, this abandoned building has been transformed into a modern clubhouse with several facilities. It was therefore appropriate that at that moment the club changed its name and called it the 'Pembroke Athleta Sports Club', which represents the Pembroke locale.
