
Legislature 2019-2024
The Eighty elections took place on Saturday 25th May 2019, where 65.6% of the population voted and challenged eight candidates. Dr. Dean Hili, Omar Elaref Arab and Raymond Lanzon on behalf of the Labour Party and Dr. Désirée Vella Brincat M.D. and Charles Cesare on behalf of the Nationalist Party were elected. The new Councillors took their Oath of appointment on Tuesday 18th June 2019 for a period of five years and at the first Council meeting held on Tuesday 2nd July 2019, Dr. Dean Hili was appointed Mayor while Omar Elaref Arab was appointed Deputy Mayor.
