The Institute for Education was originally set up in April 2015 thanks to Legal Notice 140 of 2015 and as amended by Legal Notice 240 of 2015. The Institute was reconstituted as an Agency by virtue of Legal Notice 243 of 2017.
The Institute initially helps teachers and has professionals who foster 21st century skills as well as competences in educators at all levels, provided that they also influence their equity and judicial justice within all programmes. It offers accredited/unacredited programs that are flexible and delivered through various ways such as face-to-face, online and mixed information.
IfE offers accredited programmes at MQF levels 4 - 7, which are aimed at individuals who are interested in pursue a career in academic applications. These programmes offer a different learning experience for course comments after being delivered through a combination of face-to-face sessions, an online and mixed learning approach.
The Institute for Education is licensed by the Malta Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) as an Institution for Higher Education and in accordance with the second schedule of Subsidiary Legislation 327.433.
